Welcome to the Summer Showdown, one of the only INTERMEDIATE, TEAM events in GEELONG and now running for its 6TH STRAIGHT YEAR! 

The 6th Summer Showdown will take place on Sunday the 10th of February at the Bring It On CrossFit facility in North Geelong. Following on form last years success we will be again running a TEAMS OF FOUR Intermediate Competition (2 x Male & 2 x Female). So grab 3 of your best mates and register TODAY, but BE QUICK as we will be capping the competition at 32 TEAMS!

Our goal for the Summer Showdown is to run a competition that delivers a great experience for competitors aimed at the beginner/intermediate level athletes! There will be loud music, fun & challenging workouts, and the opportunity to throwdown alongside some of your mates in a competition format for the day. Teams can be made up of athletes from any box but need to register and pay as one team. To encourage more of THE MEMBERS to sign up and participate we will be banning COACHES from competing, instead persuading them to get their members to register!    

We love time management and sticking to a schedule and hate long drawn out competitions! Therefore the Summer Showdown will have limited spots available for registration, so first in best dressed. We will not run into the late hours of the afternoon like some comps, so sorry no recess and lunch time breaks!

The workouts have been designed to test all aspects of your team’s fitness and teamwork skills opening the competition up for not only CrossFitters but all Fitness enthusiasts. If you are a heavy powerlifter than team up with some gymnastic and cardio machines and visa versa, as the most well rounded team will find themselves up on top of the podium at the end of the day. All the workouts are 100% inclusive and scalable, however we recommend all participants to be relatively comfortable with the following movements and loads to compete RX:
  • Clean & Jerk @ 60kg/40kg
  • Power Snatch @ 50kg/30kg
  • Deadlift @ 100kg/65kg
  • Thruster @ 40kg/30kg
  • Gymnastic movements such as Toes to Bar and Pull Ups will have modified options, however those athlete who are competent at these movements will definitely have an advantage.
