WELCOME JACOB TO THE COACHING TEAM!

Picture
We would like to welcome Jacob Stubbings to the coaching team at Bring It On CrossFit! Jacob will be coaching classes and members on an internship basis while he completes his university studies at Deakin University. We are very excited to have Jacob on board at BIOCF as he has an amazing amount of enthusiasm and knowledge to share with the BIOCF members through his studies and experience in strength and conditioning. Jacob has been training with us for about a year now and his progress as an athlete has been incredible, solely due to his fantastic work ethic and determination to being the best athlete he can be. We look forward to seeing what Jacob brings to the coaching team and the Bring It On CrossFit members! Welcome to the coaching team Jacob, exciting times ahead!

A little introduction from Jacob:
"My initial interest in athletic development, through strength & conditioning, was sparked in year 11 where I chose to do a project for Physical Education on training for Mixed Martial Arts. This led me to a keen interest in optimising performance (both sporting and life) and consequently I began studying a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science at Deakin University in 2014. My own training began to get serious at the beginning of year 12 where I started to transition to a more functional and athletic style of programing. This involved teaching myself the two Olympic Lifts and their variations, as well as programing in various conditioning pieces at the end of my workouts. This, as well as my studies, has informed my current training philosophy, in that, all training programs should incorporate the following to some degree (depending on the focus of training at certain stages): mobility, strength, power, muscular endurance and metabolic conditioning.

My goals as an Exercise professional in the coming months and years is to be constantly learning new concepts and expanding my knowledge and experience in the area of Strength and Conditioning. The approach that I take for coaching is to make sure that everyone enjoys their time when they’re training and is receiving appropriate guidance and support in terms of their training goals. I’m super excited to be on board and am looking forward to seeing people smash their goals!"
