Thank you to everyone who took part in the SARAH Fundraising WOD to Crush Cancer over the weekend! The incredible numbers of people who took on the WOD, as well as all those that helped organise and run the fundraiser at their local box/gym has been AMAZING! The willingness to jump on board and support such a great cause within the Fitness community is second to none! Well done everyone who got on board, we are very grateful. Over the weekend we had athletes from boxes/gyms around Victoria participating in the fundraising WOD and I would like to thank them all including: - CrossFit Warrnambool - CrossFit Grovedale - CrossFit Flatline - The Training Room Geelong - CrossFIt Richmond - Perfit Ballarat - CrossFit Geelong - Be Strong Fitness Geelong - CrossFit 760 Torquay - The Leisure Link TRIBE - Bring It On CrossFit I would also like to thank Sarah's Mum, Dad and Brother who came in and supported us on Sunday. It really meant a lot to have you all there. Last thank you to Danny Russell who helped create the Sarah WOD and allowed us to complete the workout in Sarah's memory for such a great cause. Without Danny this would not have been possible. On Sunday the 18th of September we had over 60 people across 4 heats join in and complete the SARAH WOD in honor of Sarah Russell. The day was a huge success as we managed to raise a lot of money and those who completed the WOD did so whole heartedly, holding nothing back. Sarah was a courageous, inspiring and beautiful person who was a true member of the CrossFit community and I know she would have been very proud of everyone who took part yesterday. She will always be loved and missed at Bring It On CrossFit, so every year at this time we will honor her memory by completing this WOD and raising much needed money to help battle and CRUSH cancer!! Over the weekend we raised and estimated total of over $4,000! Well done everyone and thank you. Cheers, Jared.

15/9/2016 0 Comments Sarah Russell Fundraising WOD...Happy birthday to the courageous, inspiring and beautiful Sarah Russell. You are forever loved and missed at Bring It On CrossFit. Thank you to everyone who has jumped on board our fundraising efforts and good luck to everyone taking on the 'Sarah' WOD today and over the weekend in memory of an incredible and strong individual. I know we will all do her proud. Happy birthday Sarah. Help raise money for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and/or Anthony Saric by completing the ‘SARAH’ WOD anytime between Thursday the 15th September 2016 through to Sunday 18th September 2016 at your local CrossFit Box or Gym. memorialgift.everydayhero.com/au/sarah-e-russell Congratulations to both BIOCF Teams who competed in the Affiliate Allstars competition over the weekend. All BIOCF athletes performed amazingly well and made the box community very proud. After 2 days and 12 scored workouts Team BIOCF Black (Jenny, Madi, Grace, Jacob, Aaron & Daniel) finished 27th overall (out of 71 teams) and 10th in the Intermediate Category (55 teams). Team BIOCF Blue (Georgie, Meghan, Simone, Ash, Hago & Scott) finished 66th overall and 43rd in the Intermediate Category. These results are VERY impressive considering 5 out of 12 were competing in their first Allstars comp and 4/12 their first ever CrossFit competition! With a 10th place finish for Team BIOCF Black, it may even qualify them for the Final on the Gold Coast but we will have to wait and see. Each workout tested the athletes in varying physical skills and teamwork and I was very proud on how the BIOCF athletes stood up to the challenge and I'm sure a number of them realized that they are capable of so much more than they thought previously. Well done again to everyone who competed, I know everyone had a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to going again next year! Enjoy a well earned rest team! Cheers, Coach Jared. Congratulations Tess who is the Bring It On CrossFitter of the Month for August 2016.
"Member of the Month is awarded to an individual that has shown a determination throughout the month to improve their health. The member has come in and dedicated themselves 100% to the workout listed on the board. We have members of all ability levels, so the member of the month has shown great improvements in their own work capacity. They are team players and motivate others to work hard and achieve their goals by having a positive influence on the Bring It On CrossFit community around them." Tess has been training with us for a while now and has been deserving of this award many times! She is one of our dedicated 6am'ers at the box 5 days a week, every week, which in itself is an amazing effort! Tess has had a few injurie set backs recently but has continued to move forward with her health and fitness by modifying where she needs to and really taking the time to focus on her technique and quality of movement. It has been great to have Tess as a regular during the week and at BIOCF In House comps and we are looking forward to seeing her potential as an athlete with us in the future. Tess has also been a great advocate for Bring It On CrossFit encouraging her friends and family to come along and give CrossFit a go and we are very thankful for this. Congratulations Tess and keep up the good work! |
