31/3/2016 0 Comments CrossFit Open 2016 Write Up!That was Bring It On CrossFit’s BEST CrossFit Open yet, and the data can prove it! I have gone back and researched, reviewed and put together some statistics to compare the Bring It On CrossFit Team performance from 2013 to 2016. Based on the data I had available and time I have created the following table which shows some significant improvements across the four years competing in the CrossFit Open. The Table shows we have had amazing increases in the numbers of registered Bring It On CrossFit athlete’s from 3 in 2013 to a personal record 38 in 2016! Not taking into account that first year increase we have seen an average of 50% more members signing up for the CrossFit Open each year.
Using the top three male and female athletes from each year (based on their placing in the Australian Region) I was able to work out an average percentage placing which can be used to show a small portion of the teams improved performances over the four years. Now this only shows our average placing based on our top 3 athletes and doesn’t represent an average across the entire team (that would take too long to work out) but it does help indicate steady performance improvements from our higher level athletes and how our TEAM placing has improved over the years. The table shows our top 3 male athletes have placed higher on the leaderboard as a percentage each year and in 2016 we had 3 male athletes placing in the top 1000 in Australia (top 11% in the country). Our top 3 female results show the same progressions from year to year except for 2014 which is a standalone year as Jasmin was competing with us and placed very high on the leaderboard. At the bottom of the table shows TEAM Bring It On CrossFit’s overall placing in the Australian Region from year to year, as well as where we placed as a percentage compared to team’s registered that year. 2016 has clearly been our best year placing in the top 34% of teams Australia wide, an almost 30% move up the leaderboard from last year! 2019 CrossFit Regionals Team division her we come J Stats aside, the observable subjective improvements seen this year at every Friday Night Lights across the 5 weeks has been awesome! I believe we easily had a PR firsts during 16.3 when Mitch, Carly, Maddie, Jenny, Janine, Renee, Ben B,, Helena and Brendan all getting their first or first during a WOD Bar Muscle Ups! The Squat Clean and OHS Walking Lunge workouts had some athletes moving weights that they had never done before and then doing so for multiple reps. Many of the WODs from this year’s Open required a lot of mental toughness and fortitude and each and every BIOCF member stood up to the challenge!! Friday Night Lights always drew a big crowd of BIOCF athletes and supporters and the atmosphere at these nights was nothing short of incredible! We definitely had a 10% boost advantage by completing the workouts every Friday night with the BIOCF team cheering you on! Thank you to everyone for participating in this year’s Open and I hope you all got plenty out of the experience. Also, thank you to Johnny at CrossFit 760 Torquay for letting us join in with them on week 3 and thank you to all BIOCF members for coming along and joining in making the day very special. Bring On 2017...Anything Is Possible. Cheers, Coach Jared.

Congratulations Kate Dorward who has been chosen as the Bring It On CrossFitter of the Month for February 2016.
Member of the Month is awarded to an individual that has shown a determination throughout the month to improve their health. The member has come in and dedicated themselves 100% to the workout listed on the board. We have members of all ability levels, so the member of the month has shown great improvements in their own work capacity. They are team players and motivate others to work hard and achieve their goals by having a positive influence on the Bring It On CrossFit community around them. Kate has been training with us for a while now and has no doubt been deserving of this award a number of times in the past! Kate is regularly involved in our CrossFit events and competitions just recently competing along side Pat (Married and Still Jerking) in our Summer Showdown and has now performed very strongly through the first 2 weeks of the Open. Kate is not one to shy away from a new challenge and has shown countless times that she is capable of so much as a Bring It On CrossFitter. Congratulations Kate and keep up the good work! |
